Our Ethos

Heddington and Cherhill Preschools are two thriving committee-run preschools nestled in the beautiful countryside.

With Cherhill based at the foot of the downs and Heddington buried in the quaint village, both preschools offer a unique experience. Both preschools are closely linked to the primary schools within the grounds and make for a smooth school transition. Both sites have lovely, safe outside spaces for the children to explore and investigate their surroundings. Heddington has its very own forest school garden with a fish pond, vegetable patches and wildlife area to really ignite the child's passion for the outdoors. 

Children are offered a world of learning opportunities such as splashing in puddles, growing flowers and vegetables and exploring the local environment come rain or shine. We like to give the child free choice in their learning, extending their play by what interests them and encouraging them to be themselves authentically.  We offer weekly physical education sessions, forest-based learning sessions and enjoy the magical world of Hartbeeps. 

Our preschools both offer term-time only care or all year round for those who wish. At present, our holiday clubs are carried out at our Heddington site for all children. We accept all government funding for those who are eligible and tax-free childcare, as well as most employer voucher schemes.
